LETTER FOR ANXIOUS DAYS AND OVERWHELMED MINDS
Hey You!
Anxiety sucks. There’s no point skirting around it. It sucks. I know this, because I experience it too. Anxiety is exhausting, overwhelming, and it really sucks (worth repeating, because it does!).
So, let’s just sit for a little while. You don’t have to talk. You don’t have to write anything down. You don’t have to do anything. I’m not here to give you advice; you’ve already heard it all before. Take a breath, go for a walk, or the absolute worst: “just don’t worry about it.” Yeah, that doesn’t help.
What I do want you to know is this:
I see you. I see you struggling, and I see you surviving. You are stronger and braver than you think you are. In fact, y’know what? I think you’re doing great. Our brains like to tell us cruel little stories, but remember: just because your brain says it, doesn’t make it true. More often than not, it’s lying.
There is nothing wrong with you. What you’re feeling is completely normal. The world can be a pretty heavy place sometimes. You don’t need to fix yourself. You don’t have to pretend to be okay. You don’t have to be fearless.
If all you can manage today is simply existing, then you have succeeded. The world will still be here when you’re ready, waiting at your pace.
Whatever shape your anxiety takes (even if you can’t name it), it is temporary. Like clouds passing over a hidden blue sky — it will move on.
You are not behind. You are not a failure. You are exactly where you need to be right now.
Please, be gentle with yourself. One soft, small step at a time is more than enough.
Love,
Poppy xx
